Speck says Bulldozer

Oh come on how could I have NOT laughed…

Speck is polite

We realize that Speck is pretty much on par with where she needs to be developmentally. But I am still shocked at how she’s come from being that blob in her glider. heh. Time flies when you are having fun :)   So here’s a little bit of a morning conversation I had with Speck. Isn’t she just adorable. She’s finally learned her Please and Thank You AND How to say YES!!! She started off saying yah, which was completely unacceptable so after about 2 weeks of consistently correcting her, she’s finally got it. See for yourself :)

Word Update

She uses so many words and phrases right now it’s hard to keep up. Candy sounds like NakkiKnock  sounds like Knocky  Door sounds like DoorMama no sounds like Mama NO. She’s become more assertive with the things  nowadays. Telling us what she wants and doesn’t want. She’s definitely not a pushover.

More words….

Watch – sounds like “wash”She now sings Baa Baa Black Sheep and the words are BAA BAA BAA BAA BAA BAA BAA (oh come on that’s cute)What does the Train say ? CHOO CHOO.How does the baby (speck) Cry ? – BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPocket, Chip, and of course the most anticipated word of them all:  No (but it’s a really mild non assertive no, and it’s cute as hell)

Speck uses Phrases

Most recently it’s been complete answers to questions I ask:

Me – Where does DaDa go ? Speck – DaDa go Office (sounds like Ophice)
Me – would u like (insert the name of something here) Speck – Yesh Pease
Me – Ask nicely. Speck – Peeeeeeease OR Yessssss Peeeeeas

Speck’s new words (MORE)

Speck has been chatting it up for a while now but what’s most interesting is that now she’s started putting 2 words together.
For eg:

Nana Peep peep (her nana’s car)
Dada Buh bye
Mama Night Night
More please
thank you ( that’s technically one word but she says Taa Tee) (it’s so adorable)
More Ice
More Aveeya (more junk food)
More Bice (more rice)
Doe Doe NO (her way of telling Tweeter NO!)
Yessss Peeeeeeas

She also asks the dogs if they want more food.

Doe Doe Mum mum ??
Paypa Mum Mum ??
Meow Mum Mum ??

She also calls herself “Peck” (good P and K pronunciation)
(obviously peck is short for Speck)

She is breathtaking.

Speck’s new words (so far)

Speck’s vocabulary has been growing rapidly for the past few months. It’s amazing to watch her learn and repeat words that we just take for granted.

She calls Pepper – Pa pa

She still uses sounds for a number of other animals:
Dog – arf arf
Cat – meow (both our cats are called that)
Horse – Neigh
Sheep – Baa Baa
Cow – it used to me Mmmmm now it’s Moooo
Lion – Argh (sounds more like the clearing of her throat)
Tiger – same as above
Juice – Jews (i swear that’s what it sounds like)
This and that – these days everything is This or that. (it’s all those options we give her I guess)
Snack (any kind) – Aveeya. ( I have no idea where she got this from)

Greeting – HIYA
Night night – sounds like Nigh Nigh
See ya – Eee Ya
Her friend MJ is – Emm
At first she started calling all babies/toddlers – Ta Ta but has since graduated to calling them all Bee Bee.
Yogurt – Ta Ta and now Bee Bee (her yogurt has a pic of a baby on there, i am guessing that is where she got it from)

Socks are called – Tox (that’s what it sounds like)
Button – Butt
Trees and leaves are all – Tea
Thank you – Taa Tea

Water – Waa Waa
Nuggets – Nugg nugg

Speck says "Mummm, mummmm"

Well, she’s done it again. Surpised us in ways we thought we couldn’t be surprised. Speck actually used the M word. Now we are pretty sure she does not associate the M word with any particular person as of yet, but hey the utterance itself is a start. We are awfully proud.

She’s going to be “mummmming” her way into her 7th month. We are so PROUD.

Although Grandma Nargis heard it earlier during a diaper change, the official recorded time of the utterance will be during dinner, while seated in her exersaucer, around 6:30.
