03/16/2006 Checkup ( 28 weeks and 3 days)
Mar 17th
Speck and mommy went in for another check up today. Speck measured “purrrrrrrrfect” according to Dr. Jeanie, and of course mommy was pleased.
Dr. Jeanie said Speck is an active little bugger, hard to keep a track of when ones trying to get heartbeat on her. But we finally caught her and we got 124bpm which is right on track.
Next scheduled visit is 03/28/06
03/02/2006 Checkup (26 weeks and 3 days)
Mar 3rd
Speck and mommy went in for a regular checkup today. It was quiet enlightening. Dr Jeanie confirmed that our glocuse test came back looking great. “So far everything looks great.” Speck’s heartbeat was measured in the 140s range. Dr. got results back from our “CBC” test and found out that mommy is just the slightest bit anemic. Apparently, anemia is very common during preganancy. Also mommy found out that almost every female in her maternal family was anemic during pregnancy. So no worries. Dr. wrote out a prescription for some iron pills and we are good to go.
Dr. asked if mommy was feeling the speck moving around, and to that obviously mommy had to reply no coz she really hasn’t felt too much movement. So dr. ran a quick ultrasound and saw speckette move around a whole bunch. Dr. asked mommy to focus a little more on the movement, coz mommy is not very sensitive to baby. The mommy will promise to try harder.
Doc also asked mommy to find a pediatrician and get registered for some childbirth classes among other things. Will do so next week.
Next scheduled visit is 03/15/06
And that’s all she wrote folks

Glucose test today
Feb 17th
Speck and mommy went to take a glucose test today.
“Most healthcare practitioners routinely recommend a glucose screening test (also called a glucose challenge test or GCT) between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy to check for gestational diabetes, a high blood sugar condition that some women get during pregnancy.”
Will post results when we get them

At the last ultrasound speck weighed a full 12 oz. She seems to be very active.
Mommy talked to Doc Jeanie about making sure speck was not born on June 6th 2006, and Doc Jeanie said she would try her best to make sure that didn’t happen.

Speck was in a wreck
Dec 8th
Speck is barely 14 weeks and 2 days from conception and has already had quite an experience. Luckily mommy and speck are doing fine, alas fate had a different plan for the Sebring. (*tear*tear*)
For more pictures of the sebring and also of the car that hit the sebring, check here http://www.rasc.org/pics/sebring05 . The other car ran a red light and slammed into the passenger side of the sebring. The impact caused the sebring to take a 180° spin. Speck was taken to the hospital and checked out. Doc said speck was doing great and mommy was fine too.

Speck was announced to daddy’s family
Nov 30th
Daddy’s family all lives in philadelphia (most of them do atleast), so mommy and daddy flew to philly over the thanksgiving break (with speck of course) to make the announcement. Daddy’s family was thrilled with the news. This is number #6 for Grandpop RC and Grandmom Barb and #3 for Grandmom Brenda and Grandpop “uncle al”. Yes speck is blessed with 6 grandparents. 4 from Daddy and 2 from Mommy. Lucky Speck.
Speck also met Uncle Billy and Aunty Maria, Uncle Steven and Aunty Louise, along with Cousin Maxwell and Cousin Jeremy. Coincidently, Uncle Steven & Aunty Louise are gonna have another baby. That means another cousin for speck. woohoo. Speck has yet to meet Uncle Mitch, Jeri, Aunt Cindy, Cousin Lauren and Cousin Devin. Speck also had the honor to meet 3 greatgrandparents. Grandpop Gene, Grandma Maulka, and Nanny. This kid has really got it good.
Speck also met some awesome people like Ed and Phyllis, Lori & Rick and their kids, Toby & Sid, Maxine & Paul, Eddie and Jammie, Cousin Jamie, Daddy’s friend Bobby.
Speck was overwhelmed by all the wonderful people and looks forward to meeting them all over again once he or she is born
