We are ecstatic coz we are all in the clear.

Next scheduled doc’s visit on thursday 03/02/06.

Glucose test today

Speck and mommy went to take a glucose test today.

“Most healthcare practitioners routinely recommend a glucose screening test (also called a glucose challenge test or GCT) between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy to check for gestational diabetes, a high blood sugar condition that some women get during pregnancy.”

Will post results when we get them :)

02/09/2006 Checkup ( 23 weeks and 3 days)

Speck and mommy went in for a scheduled checkup today and got some awesome news. We learned that speck is doing extremely well. Growing perfectly, and is gonna be ready to make her big entrance as scheduled. Speck’s heartbeat is being measured in the 140s right now which is where it needs to be.

At the last ultrasound speck weighed a full 12 oz. She seems to be very active.

Mommy talked to Doc Jeanie about making sure speck was not born on June 6th 2006, and Doc Jeanie said she would try her best to make sure that didn’t happen.

Next scheduled visit is 03/02/06

What’s in a name…

That which we call a rose by any other word would smell as sweet. From Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

Here is where you get to suggest the name for our new daughter. Please leave your suggestions in the comments and don’t forget to tell us why you think your name is the perfect one.

01/19/2006 Checkup ( 20 weeks and 3 days)

Speck and mommy went in for a scheduled checkup today. Speck’s heartbeat was measured in the 140s bpm. Pretty normal according to the doctor.

The nurse asked mommy is she had felt speck move yet and of course mommy said no, coz the mommy is oblivious as can be.

Doc said it was pretty normal for first time mommys to not feel their specks till later. We have the ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow 01/20/06. We shall know what the speck is gonna be tomorrow.

12/28/2005 Checkup ( 17 weeks and 2 days)

Speck and mommy went in for a scheduled checkup today. Speck’s heartbeat was measured at 140bpm. Pretty normal according to the doctor.

Results for the blood test for down syndrome came in. Doc reports so far everything looks good.

Nothing else to report for now. Next checkup date 01/18/2006. We have the 20 week ultrasound scheduled for that day also.

Do mommy and daddy argue too much?

I have a feeling that our child will be a technophile, and not by choice! :)

Speck’s Crib

We found the perfect crib for Speck. We think Speck should learn about boundaries from the beginning :)

Speck was in a wreck

Speck is barely 14 weeks and 2 days from conception and has already had quite an experience. Luckily mommy and speck are doing fine, alas fate had a different plan for the Sebring. (*tear*tear*)

For more pictures of the sebring and also of the car that hit the sebring, check here http://www.rasc.org/pics/sebring05 . The other car ran a red light and slammed into the passenger side of the sebring. The impact caused the sebring to take a 180° spin. Speck was taken to the hospital and checked out. Doc said speck was doing great and mommy was fine too.

12/07/2005 Checkup (14 weeks and 2 days)

Mommy and Speck went in for their regular checkup today. Doc said mommy and speck are doing great.
Speck’s heartrate was measured at 140 BPM.

Speck’s first gift

Speck received the first baby gift during the trip to philly. Mommy was thrilled about the gift too.
Thanks Aunty Maria and Uncle Billy.

Speck was announced to daddy’s family

Daddy’s family all lives in philadelphia (most of them do atleast), so mommy and daddy flew to philly over the thanksgiving break (with speck of course) to make the announcement. Daddy’s family was thrilled with the news. This is number #6 for Grandpop RC and Grandmom Barb and #3 for Grandmom Brenda and Grandpop “uncle al”. Yes speck is blessed with 6 grandparents. 4 from Daddy and 2 from Mommy. Lucky Speck.

Speck also met Uncle Billy and Aunty Maria, Uncle Steven and Aunty Louise, along with Cousin Maxwell and Cousin Jeremy. Coincidently, Uncle Steven & Aunty Louise are gonna have another baby. That means another cousin for speck. woohoo. Speck has yet to meet Uncle Mitch, Jeri, Aunt Cindy, Cousin Lauren and Cousin Devin. Speck also had the honor to meet 3 greatgrandparents. Grandpop Gene, Grandma Maulka, and Nanny. This kid has really got it good.

Speck also met some awesome people like Ed and Phyllis, Lori & Rick and their kids, Toby & Sid, Maxine & Paul, Eddie and Jammie, Cousin Jamie, Daddy’s friend Bobby.

Speck was overwhelmed by all the wonderful people and looks forward to meeting them all over again once he or she is born :)

Baby SPECK at 8 weeks

Here is the SPECK at 8 weeks.

Daddy and Mommy went to the first doc’s appt on October 26th 2005. So far everything looks good. SPECK came in at 1.78cm in length during the first showing.

And we shall call it SPECK

Neil and Deviya would like to announce the “creation” of a SPECK.
